Our candles are handmade using a pure and natural soy wax. Each one may vary slightly and we work with pride over perfection. Consistency may vary, but know there is loads of love poured into them.
Commonfolk’s most important tip!
Allow the melt pool to reach all the way across to the edges of the glass before extinguishing. If you blow out your candle when it has only burned half way across, your candle will burn down the middle, leaving wax on the sides, wasting your delicious soy wax. Allowing it to melt across each time you burn it, will encourage maximum fragrance output and an even burn. We have used a wick that will create a melt pool that reaches all the way across the jar within 1-2 hours, and burns with an approx 1-1.5cm deep melt pool to encourage constant and even burn each time. Before your next burn hold the candle over the bin and with a tissue just break off any ash on the wick so that you just leave about 0.5cm of length, this will help reduce soot.
// Never move a lit candle.
// Always keep out of reach of children and pets.
// Place the candle on a stable, heat resistant surface.
// Avoid exposure to drafts.
// Never leave a lit candle unattended.
// Caution: may become hot.
// At the end of combustion, a variable quantity of wax may remain.
// Failure to follow instructions could result in fire, hazard or injury
// Always store the candle in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.
// For best results trim wick before burning and do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.
// For an even burn, allow the melt pool to reach across to the edges before extinguishing
// Discontinue burning when there is 1cm of wax left in the jar. Wash and re-use
Re-use our custom made jar.
When finished burning your candle, wash out any left over soy wax and use your gorgeous jar for tea bags in the kitchen, q-tips in the bathroom or mints at your desk.
